Partner Profile: Portico Healthnet

In 1995, HealthEast Care System created Portico Healthnet in response to the growing number of low-income east metro community members who couldn’t afford the cost of health insurance and didn’t qualify for government sponsored health programs. By providing coverage for primary and preventive services, Portico was able to improve participants’ health and address the high cost of emergency services and inpatient care to uninsured individuals.

Today, Portico helps low-income people, people of color, immigrants, and other uninsured Minnesotans enroll in health insurance and navigate the complicated health care system. Our certified MNsure Navigators provide free, personalized assistance and help clients find the most affordable coverage for their family.
